Work at the Chamber:
Gen is responsible for developing and managing all aspects of
communications and media relations at the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber
of Commerce. Her projects include the Chamber’s newsletters, promotional
materials, website, ongoing media spotlights and articles, and the continued
implementation of the Burlington branding initiative. Gen also handles the
Chamber’s relationship with local media outlets and various public relations
projects.
Education & Prior Experience:
Gen is a native Vermonter and a graduate of the University of
Vermont. Gen started her career in journalism and communications as the Editor-in-Chief
of UVM’s student paper, The Vermont Cynic. She went on to work in Portland,
Maine as an executive marketing associate for a large commercial real estate
firm. Gen gained additional communications, marketing, and public relations
experience as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Client Services for
a national engineering franchise headquartered in Portland, where she resided
for four years. Gen moved back to her home state in early 2007 and brings
to the Chamber a strong familiarity with working with local businesses in
their communications and community relations ventures.
