On August 24th, ten teams battled it out for the Golden Cleat, once again. The Third Annual Kicks for a Cure tournament started with a barbecue provided by Nectar’s; shortly after, the games got under way. A huge thank you to the participating teams: Brandthropology, Office of Congressman Peter Welch, Courtyard Marriot, Seventh Generation, Dealer.com, Kicks and Gigs, Keller Williams, Opportunities Credit Union, FreePressMedia, and the Balled and the Beautiful team. Keller Williams Realty GMP came out on top – and will have the honor of displaying the Golden Cleat in their office for the calendar year. Putting all of the fun and excitement aside, the tournament was created to benefit local charities through creative means. This year’s beneficiary was Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, which provides challenging, extraordinary experiences in a safe and loving environment to children affected by cancer. This year, we were able to raise well over our goal of last year’s $400 dollars. Burlington Young Professionals is happy to announce that because of the success of this year’s tournament, we are happy to honor Camp Ta-Kum-Ta with a donation of $625.00! Missed the fun this year? Be sure to check back next year to join the tournament for its fourth year. Thank you to Nectar’s and Burlington Parks and Recreation for sponsoring this great event.
