Within the first month after launch, visits to the site increased by 35%. The re-design of VERMONT.ORG was done with our member businesses in mind- we saw the need to not only improve the experience of the website visitor from a visual and navigation stand-point, but also realized the need to take full advantage of our domain name. The new foundation and footing of VERMONT.ORG will pay dividends for our members, as we have improved the “store-front” selling our region and membership to visitors from near and far, as well as locals exploring the Lake Champlain Region.
The main issue our old website faced was that the architecture of the site did not handle different audiences uniquely. Tourists, locals, business owners, Chamber members and program participants each need a distinctive path through the site to improve the experience and ultimately decrease bounce rates, increase engagement and encourage return visits. Chamber information is now located on a “separate” site, VERMONT.ORG/Chamber. The landing page, VERMONT.ORG, is designed to reflect the beauty of our region, helping tourists and locals get the most out of their time here, including local services and businesses, events, and much more! Your business’s profile page on VERMONT.ORG is easier to find and more useful.
Member feedback has been crucial throughout the re-design and launch process, with member questionnaires, in-person member updates, and focus groups. All of the incredible photos used on the new site were submitted by members and member business employees. We are incredibly appreciative of the patience shown by members as we launched the new site and worked out the kinks! Your Chamber staff are so excited about our new site, designed by Hark Digital, as it helps us better tell our members’ stories and more accurately represent our vibrant community.

Can I add my events to the Events Calendar? Events hosted by a member business can be submitted for free at VERMONT.ORG/list-my-event. Please note that only day-specific events can be submitted (i.e. no “every Thursday for the month of September).
Is there a place for me to post news about my business? Yes, please share your news via email to Lauren@vermont.org. Submissions should be 50 words or less and can include a link to additional information. Member news will be posted to this page – VERMONT.ORG/chamber/community-resources/member-news.
How do I update my lodging availability? Simply log into the member portal located on the Chamber homepage under “Your Chamber Membership.” If you need help with your member login information, contact Amanda@vermont.org.
How can I check/update my listing? Check your business listing by visiting web.vermont.org/search which accesses the member directory. You can also access the directory by clicking on “Find a Local Business/Service” on the homepage. To update your listing, please log-in to the member portal (see above) or email Amanda@vermont.org.
I have photos from my business and of my employees hard at work, but they aren’t tourism shots – can you still use them? Yes, this is a great way to get involved with our site and get some exposure for your business. Photos from our members help us tell the story of our Chamber.
