Join A Committee
Adult Education Council (AEC): The LCWIB hosts the regional
Adult Education Council. This council is comprised of education and training
providers, state agency representatives and employers. They meet monthly to
examine better ways to collaborate and coordinate adult services through a
regional adult education plan. This plan, updated regularly includes demographic
information and statistics on literacy, employment, and poverty and a specific
action plan that addresses strategies for assisting adults in overcoming a
variety of barriers to employment. The Council has sponsored annually a Career
Awareness Conference and Disabilities Forum to assist in developing these
strategies.
Grants Committee: The LCWIB Grants Committee must approve
all Vermont Department of Labor education and training grant applications
submitted by local schools, employers or training providers. The Committee
sets regional criteria and provides technical assistance to applicants. Grant
presentations are given to LCWIB members during their quarterly meetings and
if appropriate, the LCWIB provides its approval.

and assist with strategic planning and fundraising activities. This committee
is only open to officers and committee chairs but guest speakers are welcome.
Workforce Development Accelerated Response Team (WDART):
The WDART provides employer outreach and response to the ever-changing demands
of the workplace. The group convenes industry stakeholders to develop solutions
for gaps in the workforce and works collaboratively with state agencies, education
and training providers, and community partners to implement those solutions.
