Government Affairs Committee:
The Government Affairs Committee meets on monthly and researches,
develops, and recommends action regarding legislation on a broad range of
subjects including tax and fiscal policy, health care, and economic development
issues. The committee also schedules legislative breakfasts to improve communication
between businesses and legislators. For more information on the Government

Regional Affairs Committee:
The Regional Affairs Committee meets monthly and serves as a forum
for the development of policy on local and regional issues pertaining to planning
and infrastructure development. The committee also develops and recommends
actions on legislative issues relating to transportation and development. For

The Environment & Public Works Committee:
The Environment & Public Works Committee is a forum to learn about and
provide input on local and regional issues in regards to the Environment and
Public Works. The areas of jurisdiction for this Committee are: Air and water
quality, Lake Champlain clean-up costs, strategies and implementation plans,
Construction and development permits, Transportation infrastructure development:
costs, implementation strategies, and Municipal waste water-storm water infrastructure
system development and upgrades. This is a new committee and meeting dates

Summer Study Committees:
Summer Study Committees: Each summer the Chamber hosts several summer study
committees to develop policies in preparation for the upcoming legislative
session. The topics change annually in anticipation of legislative priorities.
Committees typically meet four to six times over the course of the summer.

Ambassadors Committee:
The Ambassadors Committee meets monthly and provides support
to the Director of Member Development and Benefits in hosting Business After
Hours events (including the annual Ambassadors' Silent Auction) and New Member
Receptions, making monthly calls to new members and select the winner of the
Chamber's entrepreneurial scholarship. Its mission is to foster public relations
by acting as a liason between the Chamber, its members and the community.

Tourism Committee:
Working as an advisory group to the Chamber in its role as the seat of the
Lake Champlain Valley Regional Marketing Program (RMP), the Tourism Committee
focuses on promoting the region as a vacation destination. In addition, it
works to educate the community of the positive impacts of tourism on the regional
