Welcome to the Government Affairs Division of the Chamber
Representing the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, our Government Affairs team is focused on advocating for a thriving private sector economy. The Government Affairs team is in the State House representing our members by monitoring legislation which affects them, as well as promoting the policies which support our economy and businesses. Between legislative sessions the team is forming policy suggestions based on the input of our members. Our work inside and outside of the State House is multiplied by the work and input of our dedicated members.
We are all on the same team. We are all trying to provide an environment where we can grow stronger businesses, which in turn will provide the revenues needed to improve our educational system and our social service programs. When business isn't thriving, it impacts the rest of our community." - Chad Farrell, Encore Redevelopment
We believe that “prosperity” is best defined by three principles:
- An expanding economic tax base,
- The potential to achieve the standard of living one aspires to, and
- Communities that remain defined by traditional Vermont values
Meet our Government Affairs Team.
Our goal is to foster communication between Vermont’s employer community and their elected officials. We encourage you to learn more, get involved and be a part of the process. We’re here to help you every step of the way.
Make a Difference in Legislation and Policy Development:
- Provide Testimony at the Statehouse. Let us know what issues you care about and would be willing to share your story about how a bill might affect your business. There’s no need to be an expert and we’ll guide you every step of the way! What’s more, your work will have a direct impact on the legislative process.
Want more ways to get involved or have an idea? Still don’t think you have enough time to get involved? Let us work with you to make your involvement match your availability. Wouldn’t you rather get involved now, than have legislation pass that negatively affects your business and bottom line?
Contact us! You can always reach our Government Affairs Team with questions or concerns.
