Work at the Chamber

As Executive Director of Leadership Champlain, Cari is responsible for curriculum development and programming for this 9-month program. She staffs the Leadership Champlain Board of Directors and all of its committees. She is also responsible for the youth leadership program, PILOT (Program to Inspire Leadership, Opportunity & Thought) which is a collaboration with Linking Learning to Life.

Cari is responsible for the Chamber's Annual Dinner and staffs the Chamber Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Nominating Committee. Cari is also Co-Coordinator of the Workforce Investment Board and enjoys helping businesses with their training needs.

She also staffs the Vermont Coalition for Workforce Solutions, an organization of training providers, business organizations, state organizations, and higher education facilities working toward finding solutions to Vermont's workforce challenges.

Education & Prior Experience

Cari is currently a student at Champlain College and working toward a degree in Communications and Management. She graduated from Leadership Champlain in June 2006. Prior to joining the Chamber, she worked for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont as Development Director for two years. Before Make-A-Wish, she served in a number of capacities for the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Northern Vermont.

She has served on the Board of Directors for Rebuilding Together * Greater Burlington, a non-profit organization that does needed repairs to disabled and elderly people's homes so they can remain independent. She has remained a volunteer for the organization. She has also served as a Leader for her daughter's Girl Scout Troop.

Currently she is a wish grantor with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont and is the Logistics Chair for the 2008 Go Red for Women Luncheon. She is also active with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and Parent to Parent.
