St. Johnsbury Academy founded in 1842, is one of the nation’s exemplary schools, combining the resources, facilities, and curriculum of the world’s leading independent schools with the personal support and attention of the best small boarding schools. The Academy is a diverse and comprehensive educational community.  Our diverse student body from around the world enjoys a curriculum of 220 courses offered at four levels of difficulty and an average class size of 12. Established in 1876, Vermont Academy is a school that is continually aware of our long history, but we are also energized by what awaits us in the future.
