Essex Junction, Vt. – It’s going to be another exciting three days for the 2018 Vermont Farm Show Jan. 30 -Feb.1 at the Champlain Valley Exposition with more than 155 exhibitors, a dozen agricultural events, association meetings, product contests and the 7th Annual Consumer Night highlighting the best of Vermont’s food and products producers on Wednesday, Jan. 31 from 4 to 7 p.m.. “The Vermont Farm Show has been going strong since the 1930s,” according to Jackie Folsom, director and manager of the Vermont Farm Show. “We’ve moved three times in those years – from Memorial Auditorium in Burlington, to Barre Auditorium and to our home in Essex Junction. The Show just keeps getting bigger and better!” This midwinter break continues to hold wide appeal for the general public, Folsom said. It is family friendly with tractors, the latest innovations in technology for rural lifestyles, equipment, agricultural products and information on display. There is something for everyone at the Farm Show. Shelburne Farms is bringing calves, the Vermont Bird Fancier's will be there along with Vermont's State Horse, the Morgan plus sheep and other surprises. Admission is free and open to the public for the three-day event. Hours are: Tuesday, Jan. 30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday, Jan. 31, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; and Thursday, Feb. 1, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Champlain Valley Exposition Miller Complex, 105 Pearl St., Essex Junction, Vt. Parking is free.

Directions to the Champlain Valley Exposition Champlain Valley Exposition 105 Pearl St. Essex Junction, VT 05452 From Upstate New York: Take Lake Champlain/Grand Isle Ferry (fee) from Cumberlands Head Island (near Plattsburgh, NY) to North Hero, VT (a 20-minute ride). Take Route 2 East to Route 2A in Colchester. Take Route 2A all the way to Essex Junction; you can enter the fairgrounds by either Gate E or F. If both gates are closed, continue on Route 2A until you come to the 5 corners; then take Route 15 for about 1/2 mile to Gate B. From Albany: Take I-87 to Lake George, NY; take Route 149 to Fort Ann, NY; take Route 4 East to Fairhaven, VT (Exit 2); take left onto Route 22A all they way to Vergennes. On the north side of Vergennes, you will come to Route 7. Go north on Route 7 approximately 20 miles to I-189. Take I-189 to I-89 North; take I-89 North to Exit 15 (Winooski/Essex Junction). Take a right on Route 15 approximately 4 miles to the fairgrounds entrance (Gate B) on your left. From Boston and NH: Take I-89 North to Exit 12 (Williston). Take a right turn onto Route 2A for approximately 4 miles to the 5 corners in Essex Junction. Take a left onto Route 15 about a 1/2 mile to the fairgrounds entrance (Gate B). From Montreal, Quebec: Take Route 133 to I-89 South. Travel approximately 35 miles south to Exit 17 (Milton). Take Route 2 East to Route 2A in Colchester. Take Route 2A all the way to Essex Junction; you can enter the fairgrounds by either Gate E or F. If both gates are closed, continue on Route 2A until you come to the 5 corners; then take a right onto Route 15 for about 1/2 mile to Gate B. Please be kind and leave your pets at home.
