Performing Arts

  • Flynn Theatre for the Performing Arts. This 1,453-seat art-deco treasure brings to the community over 100 live performances each year, many of which are rare opportunities to experience world class performing arts right here in Vermont. An expansion, including smaller performing spaces, was completed in 2001.
  • St. Michael's Playhouse. Greater Burlington's professional actor's equity summer theater since 1947. A Vermont tradition.
  • Vermont Symphony Orchestra. The Vermont Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit, membership-based organization that performs 45 to 50 full or chamber orchestra performances annually, as well as 100 ensemble or artist-in residence performances.
  • Vermont Mozart Festival. Summer concerts combine exceptional classical music with Vermont's exquisite natural beauty. Winter concerts offer world-renowned chamber artists in performing pieces composed by the masters of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern periods across the Burlington area.
  • Discover Jazz Festival. It's Bourbon Street, Vermont style where the city comes alive with a week of small and large performances across the City of Burlington .
  • Champlain Valley Folk Festival. Three days of the best of traditional folk music and dance until dawn.
  • Hermann's Royal Lipizzan Stallions of Austria. A program of equestrian ballet with four performances each week in their summer home in the Champlain Islands.
  • Lyric Theatre of Burlington. Community theater at its best to delight the whole family.
  • Lane Performing Artist Series. Offered by the University of Vermont .
  • Burlington Latino Festival. Three days of celebration that unites people of diverse cultures to explore the rich Latino culture.
  • The Big Apple Circus. The Big Apple Circus has been delighting Vermont audiences since 1985.
  • The Vermont Stage Company. World-class theater for Vermont audiences.
