 | Every year, the Jimmy Fund teams up with the Boston Red Sox, WEEI Sports Radio Network, and New England Sports Network (NESN) to strike out cancer in children and adults. Over the span of two days and two Red Sox games, gifts from all over the world are phoned in and submitted online to support Dana-Farber's lifesaving mission.
In 2010, the Across the Lake Challenge was founded as a local event to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Simultaneously, in both Plattsburgh, NY and Burlington, VT friends gather to watch baseball and strike out cancer. All proceeds raised at the events are pooled and forwarded to the Jimmy Fund. In 2010, we raised over $1200 for this worthy cause. In 2011, we raised over $5000. This year we are working hard to surpass that goal.
