Summer Cinema Series: Pirates of the Caribbean I

Grab some blankets, cozy up with the family, and feel the sand between your toes at Burlington’s largest and most popular beach, North Beach Park. Soak up that famous Lake Champlain sunset from water level and enjoy the classic tale of Captain Jack Sparrow and the Black Pearl. North Beach Park has something for everyone: food concessions, a playground, restrooms with showers, picnic tables and grills, and kayak rentals. Get there when the sun is high and make a whole day of it! It’s also the only beach with active lifeguards in the summer season, so enjoy that creemee with some peace of mind. This event is brought to you by the Burlington Parks, Recreation, and Waterfront Department and Burlington City Arts.

“Do Good. Be Good. Make Good.” Saturday marks the 4th annual Do Good Fest, a free music festival to benefit Branches of Hope Cancer Patient Fund, a nonprofit organization that works to alleviate the financial burden on individuals and families dealing with cancer. Alternative rock giants Guster headline, with a star-studded lineup of performances by local bands. Enjoy a multitude of some of the best food trucks and vendors in the state, exciting activities for the whole family, and some of the best local music Vermont has to offer – all for a good cause! Peruse the festival’s “Nonprofit Village” and gain an in-depth understanding of many local organizations and how they do good every day. It doesn’t look a day over 50! Celebrate 70 years of Shelburne Museum‘s fantastic exhibitions and galleries. In true Shelburne Museum fashion, they’ve decided to celebrate on the decks of the historically-rich steamboat Ticonderoga. The party will include complimentary bubbly, cash bar, a live band, delicious hors d’oeurves, birthday cupcakes and fireworks! Bring your checkbook and bid some fabulous destinations, museum activities, and other treasures in the live auction! Dress up and dance the night away in celebration of the big 7-0. We love you, Shelburne Museum!

Sundays are for relaxation – and art! Head down to April Cornell‘s flagship location on the Waterfront on Sunday for their artist’s market, Art on the Water. They’ve invited a juried group of artists for an afternoon of art, music, food, and fun! Grab some lunch courtesy of ArtsRiot, sway to the music of Deb Brisson & The Hay Burners, and get your craft on with kid-friendly activities by the Shelburne Craft School! Support the arts this Sunday having fun in the sun over the glistening waters of Lake Champlain – what could be better?


9th Annual Vermont Cheesemakers Festival

Allow us to share our passion for local indulgences with you at the 9th Annual Vermont Cheesemakers Festival. Try over 200 local cheeses, wines, craft beers and spirits, and food, and meet the artisans behind the scenes! Get hands-on experience at the many workshops, cheesemaking demos, and cooking demos that come free with festival admission. This event is hosted and sponsored in part by local favorite Shelburne Farms.
