As any career expert, CEO or human resources professional will reiterate time and again, the best way to retain talent, boost morale and expand your employees’ repertoire is professional development. An investment in continued education is an investment in the future of your company and workforce.
As a member of LCRCC, any of your employees can benefit from Burlington Young Professionals’ (BYP) professional development programming. Each year BYP puts on a seminar series to provide our young professional workforce with the tools to build upon their expertise.
The 2019 BYP Seminar Series focused on three key themes: leadership, personal branding and financial literacy.
Kicking things off in February, the first seminar, Learn to Lead, featured a panel of young civic leaders. Attendees were able to ask questions and engage in a conversation about taking on leadership roles within their community–whether that’s joining a board or running for office.
The Learn to Take the Floor seminar was led by renowned Moth storyteller, Sue Schmidt. Sue led a workshop about storytelling to inspire young professionals to find the confidence in their ability to share stories.
The final seminar, Learn to Spend, was led by New England Federal Credit Union’s financial education team. A panel of financial experts had a candid conversation about money and answered questions ranging from home and car buying tips to salary negotiation and credit card debt.
This year’s BYP Seminar Series was made possible by our title sponsor and community supporter, New England Federal Credit Union, as well as our range of venue sponsors, Ri Ra Burlington, ArtsRiot and Hotel Vermont.
