Training Interns and Partnering for Success (TIPS) is a curriculum taught in select high schools across Vermont to juniors and seniors. LCRCC partners with high schools in Chittenden County to deliver TIPS as part of our work to train and retain the talent that already exists here in the Lake Champlain region. Students enrolled in TIPS learn how to write resumes, cover letters, prepare for interviews, and other job skills that they will need. The students are required to complete a 20-40 hour internship in a field they may be interested in pursuing after high school. It is a great way for businesses to get connected to a younger generation and show them what you have to offer them here in Vermont!
Over the past four months, TIPS has been helping juniors and seniors figure out what they are interested in pursuing after high school. We had a variety of career interests ranging from the medical field to the music industry. This semester we established some new partnerships that helped grow TIPS, as well as continuing to work with previous partners. It is essential that all career sectors help Vermont students learn what career options are available to them in their local community.
We would like to thank the participating businesses and organizations:
We would like to thank New England Federal Credit Union for their continued support of TIPS.
