A4TD’s Returnship Program provides opportunities to mature workers

Associates for Training & Development (A4TD) is a Vermont-based non-profit which has specialized in workforce development, primarily for mature workers, since 1983. Throughout the state, and the region, A4TD administers the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), providing professional opportunities and training for a diverse population of job seekers. With a commitment to the clientele, and a data driven approach, A4TD has been one of the longest-serving and top-performing SCSEP grantees in the country.

Recently, A4TD has partnered with the Vermont Department of Labor to develop the Vermont Returnship Program, an initiative which connects employers with experienced workers who seek new opportunities. This forward-thinking program is the first of its kind in the nation and matches hiring businesses with experienced talent who have been professionally screened and are already equipped with soft skills. The Vermont Returnship Program is an incredibly innovative endeavor which seeks to mitigate Vermont’s shrinking workforce by bringing back into work those who are not currently engaged, and retaining those who are otherwise poised to retire.

A4TD helps businesses and HR professionals to develop an internship-style opportunity for each experienced worker. Businesses who host a “returnship” benefit from the skills, experience, wisdom, common sense, pride, and dignity of an experienced worker without the typical overhead and hassle of a modern job search. Moreover, through our data-driven approach and utilization of professional assessments, we confidently match employers with individuals who will be the right fit for their organization. A4TD is proud to offer this solution to businesses struggling to find talented workers! Businesses who are looking for solutions to their hiring challenges should reach out to learn more.
