Member Spotlight: Make-A-Wish Vermont

Wish Kid Cam, age four, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, wished to interact with sea creatures in Florida.

Make-A-Wish Vermont has granted over 830 wishes to Vermont children with life-threatening medical conditions over the last 30 years. They believe that a wish experience can be a game-changer. This one belief guides them in everything they do. It inspires them to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids they serve and drives them to make their donated resources go as far as possible. Most of all, it’s the founding principle of their vision to grant the wish of every eligible child.

Make-A-Wish Vermont believes that wishes are more than just a nice thing. And they are far more than gifts, or singular events in time. Wishes impact everyone involved – wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals and communities – in varying ways.

Wish Kid Grace, age five, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, wished for a puppy.

For wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic. And still others might realize all they have to offer the world through volunteer work or philanthropy.
