Member Testimonials: Advocacy

As part of our mission to support a thriving private sector economy, LCRCC provides a voice to Chamber member businesses in policy discussions at the State House.  Our three person Government Affairs team spends the entirety of the Legislative Session in Montpelier advocating for the interests of member businesses.  As members of LCRCC, business owners are invited to discuss concerns with our Government Affairs team so that we can go to work for you on policy while you focus on running your business.  Here’s what some of our members had to say about our efforts to represent them during the session this year:

“I am very much appreciative of the support that the Lake Champlain Chamber provided on behalf of our Vermont independent restaurant community. Their thoughtful advocacy combined with ease in collaboration provided the support and resources our restaurant industry needed within these challenging circumstances.”

– Sue Bette

Founder & President, Bluebird Hospitality

“The LCRCC Government Affairs Team was quick to engage stakeholders on the cloud tax, providing information and opportunities for those affected by the proposal to engage with legislators.”
– Ted Adler
President, Union Street Media

“The LCRCC Advocacy team’s years of experience and consistent presence in the State House lends itself to a thorough understanding of issues that affect the Vermont economy, as well as the capacity to act on those issues.”
– Cairn Cross
Co-Founder, Fresh Tracks Capital

“With many businesses such as ours, there may be risks of unintended consequences of well-intended legislation. We found it helpful to be plugged into the collaborative work LCRCC’s advocacy team is doing with others in Montpelier – to stay aware of what’s happening and help our voices be heard.”
– Brett Smith
Partner, Fuse Marketing
