10th Annual Vineyard Wine & Harvest Festival To Benefit Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf
November 3, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Celebrate the fall harvest and the season’s bounty with Shelburne Vineyard and a crowd of Vermont specialty food producers and vendors at the Vineyard’s 10th Annual Wine and Food Fest Benefit for the Chittenden County Emergency Food Shelf on Saturday, November 3 from 11am-5pm.
This annual event has become the way the Vineyard welcomes the holiday season each year, drawing hundreds of local and out-of-town visitors who together bring in as much as 3000 lbs. of food in cash and edible contributions to help the Food Shelf stave off hunger in our local communities and make the holidays special for our neighbors in need. The cost of admission is simply to bring along a donation of non-perishable food items or to purchase a raffle ticket.
The Vineyard’s Tasting Room and patio will be full of free tasty samples from local producers who’ll also have plenty of their products for sale to fill your holiday menus and gift lists. At the same time you will help fill the Food Shelf larder with a menu of staple foods and holiday specialties with your donations of non-perishable food items and contributions to the Festival Raffle. A Raffle Drawing each hour will deliver a gift item from a different participating vendor to one lucky ticket holder.
Besides free wine tastings at Shelburne Vineyard, vendors offering free samples this year will include our old friends and fellow winemakers from Eden Ice Cider and Artesano Mead, our Shelburne neighbors from Douglas Sweets, Soupie Sales and O’Bread Bakery, palate pleasers for your sweet tooth from Run Amok Maple, Champlain Valley Apiary and Fat Toad Farm, cheeses from Lazy Lady Farm and Woodcock Farms and more to come. Luiza will also be on site selling her Pierogies Homemade With Love for lunch and snacking. The Vineyard is also grateful for the participation of VT Tent Company who each year helps to provide a heated tent to allow space for all of the participating vendors.
Shelburne Vineyard is located at 6308 Shelburne Road (Rt 7) in Shelburne VT and is known for its menu of wines produced on their almost 17 acres of cold-hardy grapes. Varieties include the Red, White, Rosé and Ice Wines of the Shelburne Vineyard label, Iapetus natural fermented wines and Capsize white and rosé canned wines. So come cozy up in the Tent and Tasting Room, find your favorite treats and know you will leave feeling that you’ve contributed to a community-wide celebration of local producers and community generosity.
