Nature Photography with a Naturalist’s Eye (Art of Observation Series)

May 30, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Following a brief introduction at the trailhead, where we will review basic camera functions, as well as some tips and techniques used in photographing nature, we will share our backgrounds and what we hope to learn from each other. After a short overview of unique natural features of Rock Point, we will explore the forests, cliffs, swamps, and beaches of Rock Point in search of images to capture. Trees, wildflowers, rocks, water, the beach and cliffs, sunset, shapes, patterns, textures, and colors are all fair game.

This event is for anyone with a camera over the age of 12. The Art of Observation Series aims to provide the opportunity to those who attend to work closely with Burlington’s Master Naturalists. More information on their organization can be found here:

Artist: Avid outdoor photographer Rob Merrifield has spent nearly 5 decades hiking, paddling, and skiing in many wilderness settings throughout the US as well as Canada, Panama, Kenya, Rwanda, and Ethiopia.
